Check your roles before retrying
A boss attempt usually fails faster when every card solves the same job. Cover recovery, protection, damage, and setup before you decide the deck is ready.
Start this Komodo Dragon prep by checking survival, SP room, damage plan, and whether your cards fit the fight before spending more attempts.

Block Tales boss advice can change after updates or fresh player runs. If a guide conflicts with the live fight, trust what happens in-game and adjust the build.
Open the build maker when you know what keeps ending the run. A usable plan shows BP left, SP pressure, survival coverage, and cards to try next.
Komodo Dragon is the first boss of Chapter 2, encountered in the Rugged Rainforest right after the player scales Mount Red Sun. He is the entry-tier wall that sits in front of Griefer's Crib — most players clear him while still learning their deck, so the run often hinges on which items and bombs the party brings into the room.
The encounter is gated by Griefer setting up a rubble barricade in the room with a pool of water. The player has to blow up the rubble first, and only then does Komodo Dragon force the fight. Plan one bomb or item-damage card for the barricade step before you commit any SP to the actual boss — running in raw leaves you with no setup turn and a lower-HP opener.
Komodo Dragon layers a venom bite (poison stacks, ticking damage), a tail whip (knockback that pushes the front-line out of heal range), and a closing lunge on low HP that can one-shot an under-built party member. Bring at least one poison-cleanse card, one knockback-immune or shield card, and one burst-damage card for the under-30% lunge window.
The community-verified Floor 29 shell is two or three Thorns, five or more Bombs, one Item+Card combo (Bombs deal 3 damage to you and the enemy), and three Cures. Item damage is the answer to the Chapter 2 first-boss HP pool — raw sword swings lose the SP race and let the venom tick snowball before the lunge window opens. Use the build maker to confirm BP, SP, and item-damage coverage before heading into Rugged Rainforest or re-running Floor 29.
