Demo 5 Rewrite: What Changed About Hatred
❌ Removed (Pre-Demo 5)
Hatred was a 'mirror boss' — it reflected the player's accumulated negative emotions. Every loss, aggressive dialogue, or skipped cutscene made it stronger. The final form was unique to each player's playstyle. This was cut entirely in Demo 5.
✅ New (Demo 5)
Demo 5 rewrote Hatred from a 'mirror boss' (who reflected the player's accumulated negative emotions) into a corrupted guardian bound to the Void Tower. The original 'Mirror Boss' mechanic — where every loss, aggressive dialogue choice, or skipped cutscene made him stronger — was cut entirely. Lore purists call it a 'betrayal'; new players find the fixed mechanics more accessible.

Solo Strategy
Three phases. Phase 1 (0-66% HP): Build meter, observe patterns, do not overcommit. Phase 2 (66-33% HP): Hatred corrupts card slots — prioritize expensive cards first so corruption hits rarely-used ones. Sustain with Heal Wave. Phase 3 (33-0% HP): Despair active — deals 30 + (missing_HP × 0.3) damage every 3 turns. Keep HP above 60% or Despair will oneshot you. Ultimate Guard blocks one Despair turn.
